Medico-Legal Services

The need for expert witness psychological assessments across different law branches and at different stages of the litigation process is being increasingly recognised and valued

However, there have been numerous occasions where such professionals have expressed opinions in their expert witness roles in the absence of appropriate expertise, training and professional credentials, with negative consequences for clients and reputational damage to law firms.

The team here at Orior is aware the clients, solicitors and courts need robust, expertise-informed opinions and timeously produced reports which are effective and clear.

We undertake work in cases that entail: global psychological assessments (personality assessments, psychopathology assessments-depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, attachment styles, family and relational dynamics and emotion regulation abilities), cognitive assessments for individuals 16+ years of age and neurodevelopmental assessments (ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder).

Our team is open to referrals in family law, immigration law, and criminal law. We ensure that our team has undertaken proper training, that familiarises them with the requirements and expectations courts and legal professionals have from professionals acting as expert witnesses. In addition, members of our team are required to undertake monthly supervision specifically for their activity as expert witness psychologists.

You can receive a quote for the costs as well as an estimate of the time required to complete a report on request, alongside the profile and the CV of the clinician deemed suitable for your respective case. Orior accepts both privately funded cases and cases receiving financing via the Legal Aid Agency.
